What about doing your own website?

Doing your own website can be very easy. I've found an excellent piece of software called XSitePro which I used to do this website - and I'm a totally non-techie person!

I've also done www.fiction-writers-mentor.com and www.tracyculleton.com using this software.

It's extremely well-written and easy to use, and I highly recommend it. It's also very good value at only $197 (appx €160) for a one-time purchase. You can do as many websites as you like, and make changes as often as you like for this price.

You will need to sort out getting a domain name and hosting, and I recommend Peter at www.needanerd.ie . (Well, I would do, seeing as he's my husband! But he knows his stuff so I feel no conflict of interest in recommending him.) He'll book your domain name, organise your hosting and do the first upload to the internet which is the tricky one. Once that's done you can re-publish as often as you want, with just a click. It couldn't be simpler.

Make sure to read the other advice here about how to lay out your website (see the section on website critiques for more information), and make sure to use the right words on it to encourage your visitors to call you or buy your products. I can help you with both of these if required, just get in touch.

There's something very, very satisfying about building your own website! The best of luck with it.

So, first thing, check out XSitePro's website. Then come back here for the rest of the information you need.
